Walking Social Billboards & I Love Ice Cubesssss
My Latest Protest Tees
Sometimes I just want to wear my thoughts like a mini billboard, and that’s exactly what Bitter Threads is — a way of putting thoughts about out there for the world to engage with. Here are my 3 new social tees on things that are rolling around in my head this week.
- TAX THE RICH: Let’s be real—99% of us know what’s up with the wealth gap. This jacket is hysterical because it's printed on what I am pretty sure is a Versace knock off because the zipper feels way cheap. You can find hoodies and jackets too in my Etsy Store. It is made for all of us who believe it's time for the top 1% to pay their fair share. If 15-30% of our wealth is going to taxes, so should theirs. Personally, I think it should be 90% of all their taxes for anyone who makes over $100 million because that is just hoarding all our resources.
- Respect Your Mother: Respect Mother Nature. She don't play. With Hurricane Helene recently slamming North Carolina, and Milton following right behind, it’s clear: Mother Nature has had enough.
- We Are Not Your Enemy: Featuring a man holding a Palestine flag, this shirt challenges the harmful narrative that supporting the Palestinian people equals endorsing terrorism. Human rights shouldn’t be political, and this design speaks to that truth.
I Love Ice Cube Trays!
If you’re like me and constantly reaching for garlic and ginger while cooking, here’s a time-saving trick that will change your life. Mince your garlic (or if you are lazy, buy a giant bottle of minced garlic) and ginger (pulverize it in your Vitamix), spoon them into ice cube trays, and freeze. Once frozen, pop the cubes into a bag, and you’ve got perfectly portioned garlic and ginger ready to toss into any dish—no chopping required!
Bonus Hack: I also love freezing a mix of thyme, sage, and rosemary. Just chop them up, add a little olive oil, and freeze in cubes. They’re a lifesaver when you want to infuse rich flavor into soups, roasted veggies, or pasta sauces in a pinch!
Summer Tip: For a fun twist, try freezing borage flowers or herbs in water for super pretty ice cubes. These are great for adding a little flair to your summer drinks or fancy water pitchers. So simple, so beautiful!
